"Was that really Diego?" I stared at my phone after the call ended, trying to know if the man I just spoke to was the same person that has been arguing with me all these time.

I felt my body still shivering from the conversation. I wasn't expecting a soft tone from him.

When I first saw his call, my heart skipped in fear, wondering what must have prompted him to contact me out of the blue.

I had to move away from Pedro and his friends to answer the call. All fired up to lash out at him if he was calling to start any argument.

But when I heard his request, my heart melted.

"His voice, " I pointed out with a smile engulfing me slowly.

"It's been long I heard that tone."

My hand came caressing my cheek, feeling happy to hear his soothing voice.

"But he wants to see me tonight. I hope it's to settle the argument than adding to it?"

I felt worried about tonight's meeting.

"If he's going to argue about Pedro and I, then I'll have to be ready for him," I decided.
