After a series of searching, Yvette felt so relieved that she had some clothes that she can bear to wear in her twin’s pile of clothes. It was those clothes that she sends her whenever she goes shopping but she never saw Yvonne wear them because she said that the clothes were too revealing for her.
She ended up choosing a yellow sleeveless tank top and white chiffon shorts. Casual but stylish.
After that, she went out of the room to go to the kitchen. But as she was walking downstairs, her steps halted midway when she saw the door open and it revealed a man in corporal attire.
It was the Clyde Smith.
Seeing his figure right in front of her eyes, Yvette can’t help but grit her teeth and clench her fist in anger.
So, this is what a devil incarnate looks like in person, huh?
She saw how one of the guards, who entered the mansion with him, whisper something to his ear which made him glance in her direction and all of a sudden, they were meeting each other’s gaze. His eyes were void of any emotion and that’s the same as hers.
After seconds of staring, Clyde removed his gaze from her and whispered something back to the guard beside him, who gave him a bow before taking their leave. Yvette, on the other hand, took that chance to continue walking downstairs.
“You’re here,” Clyde spoke.
“Obviously,” She sassily responded.
Clyde wasn’t able to speak for a moment because he took his time in observing the figure of his wife in front of him. He looked at her from head to toe. Yvette saw that and that made her cross her arms above her chest.
“What’s with the staring, Mr Smith?”
There’s that Mr Smith again.
“You look… different.” It wasn’t a question nor a compliment. It was just a pure statement. Nonetheless, it made Yvette smirk.
“How different?” She asked with a taunting voice. “Good different or bad different?”
Instead of giving attention to his wife’s question, he’s more curious and bothered by her change of attitude. How come his soft-spoken and conservative wife, turned into a feisty and sexy one in a span of a month?
Wait, did he just say sexy?
“Forget it.”
“Oh, come on, would it hurt you to give me an answer?” Yvette insisted. To be honest, she wasn’t doing it for Clyde’s answer but because she just wanted to annoy him like what she did a while ago in their call. But the guy wasn’t having it.
Instead of answering her, Clyde just ignored her question again and just look at her intensely.
Yeah, something definitely changed.
Without saying anything, he just walked past his wife to go upstairs. He just came from work and he’s tired. He needs rest and thinking about what happened to his wife while she was gone won’t help him get that. Also, why does he seem so concerned again about Yvonne’s changes? He shouldn’t care, right?
“Asshole,” Yvette uttered in annoyance that made Clyde stop taking another step.
“What did you just say?” Clyde looked back at Yvonne.
“I said, you’re an Asshole. Why?” She raised one of her brows. “Aren’t you?”
For the nth time today, Clyde was speechless. Yes, he knows that he’s an asshole most of the time but Yvonne actually has the guts to call him that in his face?
Obviously, she has. You just heard him, stupid.
“What really happened to you, Yvonne?” He asked, confused. “The last time I saw you, you were not like this.”
“Oh, you mean the time when I rarely speak because I chose to keep quiet instead of saying things out loud?” Yvette smirked once again. “Well, Mr Smith, people change. And that’s what happened to me while I was gone. I changed.”
“But not a sudden change,” he countered. “I don’t believe that you can change that quick in a month.”
Yvette sarcastically chuckled. “Believe want you wanted to believe, Mr Smith. Why are you even worked up if I change or not? Since when did you care about me?”
“But you’re still my wife.” Yvette didn’t even hide the disgust on her face when Clyde said that.
“What a bullshit, Mr Smith.” She gave him a ‘duh’ look.
“Stop calling me Mr Smith, Yvonne,” he firmly said. “I have a name and you know that.”
“And if I don’t want to?” she taunted once again. “You can cheat on me but I can’t call you whatever I want? Isn’t that unfair, Mr Smith?”
Clyde’s brows furrowed upon hearing his wife’s words.
Did she just say cheat? How did she…
“What are you even saying? I’m not cheating—”
“Another bullshit.” The playful expression on Yvette’s face was now gone. It was replaced by a cold one.
Wow, this guy really dares to lie in front of her face? Well, to be fair, she’s also lying to him by pretending to be her sister. But cheating will never be fair.
“But, yeah, maybe this is the price of agreeing to marry you. Don’t worry, I’ll deal with your shits.”
Clyde’s mouth slightly gaped as he stared at his wife. “Are you for real?”
“Well, unlike you, I know how to stick with my words.”
“I’m telling you, Heron, he’s not my wife.” Clyde insisted on his friend who is currently in-call with him. The guy on the other line just shook his head and chuckled.
“Bro, are you sure that you didn’t drink? You sounded drunk.”
“Fucker, I already told you that I didn’t!”
“Woah, Woah! Fine. Calm your ass down. Sheesh…”
“Trust me, bro, Yvonne really changed.”
“Hmm, you already said it, Clyde. Your wife was gone for a month. Though it seems impossible a lot of things can happen in a month. So, it’s possible that your wife did change in those days that she was away from you.” His friend calmly stated.
“But it wasn’t just a subtle change, Heron. It was like she became the opposite of the Yvonne that I knew.”
“And so? What is it to you that she changed? As far as I know, you’re the husband who doesn’t give a damn about her wife because you said that she took your freedom away,” Heron pondered which made Clyde shut up.
Clyde took a deep breath and shut his eyes tightly before exhaling harshly.
“You’re right... You’re fucking right.”
"Rodney?” Yvette called the personal driver. “Yes, Ma’am!” the driver almost halted from his stance when he saw Yvette. The driver looked at her with confusion once. He’s not used to her clothes. Yvonne always dressed like there was a formal occasion every day with her long sleeve and long skirt, unlike the clothes he’s seeing today. “I’m coming out later after my yoga. Tell my husband I’ll use one of his cars.” The driver nodded. Yvette continued what she was doing in the garden. There’s a mat for her exercise while the cascading water on the fountain added to the peaceful ambiance of the big backyard. Oh, I hope the devil won’t come out of his den!Yvette started doing her exercise. She did some ballets from the past that’s why she’s a bit flexible. The difference between her and Yvonne, her twin is musically inclined, into arts, and introverted. She’s her opposite at everything. She does ballet and extreme adventures. They both grow up in an orphanage and got separated reason
Yvette drove herself to the nearest Mall to shop. She needs new clothes! She wants to use the two months left of her vacation before her work. And maybe two months of punishing Clyde is enough because she’s disgusted to pretend to be his wife that long. Seeing his face every day reminds her of her twin’s death. After that, she will reveal that her twin already died and it’s because of his cheating issue! Clyde will probably live miserably for a lifetime after knowing someone died because he’s an ass.I bet the motherfucker might dig his own grave just to repent for his sins…But Yvette has another mission. She wants to know the mistress. She wants to catch them red-handed. She wants to see the thick-faced bitch who has the guts to settle as a cheap mistress!Does she think I’ll let her breathe in peace too? My twin is just too nice to let them get away with their sins but I won’t tolerate them! Not on my watch! She shopped for all the clothes she need for a month. And yes, the used cr
Yvette opened some of the paper bags she bought to wear for the dinner. Yvonne used to talk about Clyde’s parents. Her twin sister is intimidated by the Smith family even though his mother is fond of her.Yvonne said Mrs. Smith was the reason why she got married to Clyde. She doesn’t like anyone for his son. And since Yvonne embodies all the standards she’s been looking for, she automatically convinced Yvonne’s parents to marry their son in exchange for merging.Clyde was scolded by his mother when Yvonne was gone missing for a month. It’s one of the reasons why Clyde wants Yvonne by his side to tame his mother. She chose the black sleeveless Chanel dress and paired it with high heels. She put her hair in a high ponytail and highlighted her features with makeup. She wore one of the pieces of jewelry from Tiffany and Co. The necklace hugged her neck like a choker with diamonds all over it.She took the fur shawl and sprayed herself a Chanel perfume and went out.She saw Clyde fixing th
Clyde couldn’t help to think about Yvette’s reaction. As if she’s disgusted to be with him. In his entire life, nobody treated him like he was a pest, dirt in someone’s eyes. Not until he saw how Yvette reacted. Was she so mad at me that… she was disgusted to be with me in a room? His jaw clenched and he couldn’t stop himself from getting angry about it. He’s scowling the whole dinner while Yvette was enjoying her wine as if Clyde’s presence beside her doesn’t matter to her at all. After dinner, they had their dessert while Mrs. Smith was showering Yvette with new gifts. “This is too much, Mama…” Yvette was stunned to see the luxurious items in front of her being presented by the maid. “Oh no. Don’t worry about it…” she smiled and sipped on her wine. Yvette’s eyes sparkled. It was nice to see the luxurious items but she realized it was given to her twin, not to her personally. “I can’t take it, Mama…” she said unconsciously. “Oh please… Yvonne! I said don’t think about it,” s
Yvette was wondering if it was their first time showering together. Or if Clyde and Yvonne already slept with each other. Yvonne didn’t tell her about those things. She doesn’t know whether she’s just shy to talk about it or there’s nothing really happened between them. If he asked Clyde about it, she might confuse him. And it was so unnecessary to ask about those things. What am I gonna ask? Hey asshole, did we fuck? God! He might think I lost my memory and investigate my whereabouts during those days I disappeared for a month! So she’s thinking the showing together thingy isn’t their first time because Clyde was confident about it carrying her. Well that was what she thought but the truth is, it was their first time. Clyde and Yvonne never shared intimacy with each other. The only intimacy they experienced is eating together during dinner with the family and being in the same room as husband and wife. Yvonna was first to finish showering and went out immediately to change clothes
"What do you mean by not your wife?" Damon asked curiously."That's what I'm talking about. He thinks she wasn't his wife," and Heron's chuckles followed while putting Clyde's shot in front of him."Hmm... she's angelic and very soft when she speaks. You probably upset her to change like that," Callan commented. They all met Yvonne since they sometimes visited Clyde in his own place to drink. And Yvonne will always serve them sweets or entertain them. "She's so nice. Very pure," Damon smirked meaningfully."She's a complete stranger now. The only thing that reminds me of Yvonne is her physical appearance..." not to mention she's a bit fit and her boobs were larger compared to Yvonne. Clyde wanted to include those details but he knew how asshole his friends are. And he doesn't want to include nasty things since they're talking about his wife. He still respects her."Why don't you invite her to come over? The girls are coming here tonight too. Why don't we use this opportunity so we
Clyde's hand flew to her nape and held it gently just to continue the kiss as if he doesn't want Yvette to cut it too quickly and he still wanted to kiss her. This motherfucker! Yvette's mind screamed with different kinds of curses when Clyde responded and kissed her back nonchalantly. His lips moved gently for a few responses until Yvette pushed him, coaxing him to stop the kiss. "Oh..." the boys' reaction is just too dramatic that it echoed all over the place. Yvette licked her lower lip and smiled at him then patted his cheek. Clyde's eyes remained on her, the kiss made him startle and his mind went blank and he couldn't think straight. "Hi girls," she greeted them as if she didn't do a provocative scene in front of everyone. Sofia's face darkened. She couldn't smile at all. Trisha and Rowena pretended to smile sweetly while Almira chuckled a little."Nice to see you again, Yvonne. Wow... You've changed... a lot!" it was Rowena when she looked at her again from head to foot.T
Yvette realized that she wasn’t sure where is the room to occupy that’s why when she felt Clyde’s following her, she slowed down. She wanted to coax him to guide her to where the room is coz she knew it was an involuntary movement to go where the room is located. She’ll follow him instead. “Go back there,” she said as soon as Clyde leveled her movement. Clyde put his hand on the small of her back and guided her. As much as she doesn’t want the physical gestures she’s receiving from Clyde, she needs to know where the room is. “Don’t mind her,” he said like it wasn’t a big deal. Yvette chuckled and shook her head. Is that what he always says to my twin every time Yvonne is jealous of Sofia? Not to mind her? Wow… The nerve you got there is amazing, Clyde. You are really an ass!Yvette is aware that Yvonne is always jealous of Clyde’s friends. She already mentioned it multiple times and most especially Sofia’s name. But she doesn’t think it was Clyde’s hidden mistress because Yvonne
