Chapter Thirteen
"Where's Vladimir?" Alice asked Nicholas as she combed her slightly wet hair.
They waited outside of the hotel building for hours, waiting for other associates to find Vincent under the morning sun, feet starting to get hurt, bullet sweats on their foreheads, only to find out that Vincent is already with Kingston and was now in the resthouse.
"He left without telling anyone where he's going," Nicholas replied while busy playing mobile games on his cellphone.
Nicholas has no place to stay because he doesn't have a family anymore so he just decided to go to Alice's hospital room so he could at least sleep peacefully before going to the resthouse early in the morning tomorrow. The other associates booked a motel room while some went to their homes to stay for the night.
"How about Basty? Where is he?"
Nicholas shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know. Do I look like someone who knows the whereabouts of missing people?"

Kingston could hardly count how many cans of beer Celestine had drunk and was still drinking. Vincent stirred his coffee as he was standing on the balcony. The trees and flowers become livelier with sunlight slanted on their stems and petals. He approached the rails and rested his elbow on them as he sipped on his coffee. He checked his wristwatch to see the time. It was only six o'clock in the morning but Vincent reckon that he woke up late. He stood straight next to her, arm around her waist, squeezing her hips from time to time. He stilled, astonished by her sudden move but he did not complain nor say a thing. He let the heaviness of her head lay to his shoulder. "You saved me again. Why?" she murmured. Not a doubt, she's grateful that he saved her but it was confusing knowing that he shouldn't act that way. "I have to go now," he whispered against her hair.
