Gwen and Luther finally reached the throne. Though the woman didn’t say anything, Gwen could still much feel the scorching stare of Luther’s wife on her back. She gulped, trying to calm her nerves down. By the time she was done with her plan, anger might be the last thing the woman would feel. “I hold the supreme power in this land.” Luther began. “Therefore, it is only right that i officiate a powerful wedding such as this. You are lucky,” he said, this time whispering to her. “I never did this for my first wedding.” She gritted her teeth, imagining ways by which she could kill him. She didn’t want to marry him. It was the last thing on her mind. The plan she had imagined only required them to go so far, but she never knew that they would wed in front of everyone. If she wanted to defeat this man, she had to do so immediately, and fast. Luther turned around, urging Gwen to do the same. He ran his hand gently across her back, causing cold shivers to crawl up her skin. “People of th
Gwen stepped back a bit, staring at Luther in shock."No," She whispered. Slowly, luther turned fully around, a disappointed look on his face. "This was a special day for us, why did you have to destroy it?"She swallowed, trying hard to be bold. "As I said earlier, I'd rather die than be married to you.""But I can't let that happen. And because if this foolish mistake of yours, your friends will suffer immensely."Immediately, Gwen summoned dark flames, her stance in attack mode. " I will fight you with everything I have."Luther sighed, then raised his fingers towards her. But nothing happened. Frowning, luther stared at his hands, abs Gwen stared st him, wondering what was happening. Immediately he swivels around, trying to hide himself from her, but it was too late. She already knew what happened. Her attack had worked after all. Not just in the way she expected. "You can't use your powers," she said staring at his back. "Can you?"Angrily he turned back to her, his face eer
The piercing scream of Luther's wife filled the air, but no one paid any attention to her. All their attention laid on Gwen, the woman who had just rescued them from the millennial reign of a mad man."What are you doing?" Tyron boomed out of nowhere. "Bow to your new leader!"Gwen turned to look at him, frowning. "What are you doing?" She whispered. "You killed the Supreme Lord of the Enu realm. You are now the new supreme lord." He said simply, shrugging. She frowned, and just as she was about to say something, Luther's wife boomed."You can't be the new leader. Not when my sons are still alive.""Your sons are barely alive," Tyron said, snickering. "Weren't you listening while I was talking? He—" he said, pointing to Luther's corpse. "Used their blood to improve his youth. Whatever he did wasn't working for him anymore, and so he turned to his own blood. Haven't you noticed something wrong with your children? Yourself even?""No!" She exclaimed, shaking her head vigorously. "You'
PART ONE A thousand years ago... The cold wind blew harshly over the arena. Two men were bare-chested, slowly going around the other, patiently waiting for one of them to strike. They were in a magical ring created by one of the well-respected masters in the realm. It was inescapable and so perfect for the sparring match. It would immediately disappear once there was a winner. Around the fighters were the onlookers, most of whom were the nobles and their servants. However, the most respected was the supreme lord, who was seated on the highest part of the arena to gain a better view of the fight. It was a match he couldn't miss because one of the fighters was his son. Prince Luther. The fighters suddenly leaped on each other. As the fight was to test their strength, a spell had been placed to prevent any of them from using their powers. They were both masters and so were capable of hiding their wings. Prince Luther grabbed his opponents by the shoulders, trying to draw him into a c
Glovia was from the middle level of the Enu realm. Her family resided in the northern area, where things were fairly good. But they were able to save enough money for their daughter to go to the higher level, hoping she could gain a better life. They weren't wrong. She earned three times what her parents earned, and she always made sure to send them half of her savings. With the amount of money she had given them, they would be okay by themselves for close to a decade. She had lived a peaceful life ever since she got to the highest level. She applied to work in the Supreme lord's castle because rumor had it that the pay was much. When she finally gained the job, she heard of Prince Luther. His ruthlessness was no secret. However, what baffled everyone was how his father was blind to his antics. People who reported the evil prince's actions to the king got missing after a few days. And no search or complaint was made about it. There was a hidden rule amongst the servants; t
A few days passed since Glovia talked with Prince Stev. Since then, she had been over the moon and couldn't wait for her break time. She and her Prince may not have talked as much as they did the first time she spoke with him, but she made sure to check up on him whenever she came to the garden. Prince Stev always awarded her a charming grin that never ceased to make her heart flutter. She was currently scrubbing the floors of Prince Luther's room. Unknown to her, the man had taken note of her expressions since she came to work for him that morning. He didn't feel comfortable that she was smiling about something that wasn't related to him. The more he thought of it, the more he wanted to push her to find out what made her happy. She had been working with him for a long time, and all she had expressed at his presence was fear. Suddenly, he stood up and walked to his closet. "Prepare my bath." He commanded, opening it in search of his bathing robe. Glovia stood up and b
A few weeks had passed since Prince Stev agreed to help Glovia escape from the palace. All through those periods, they met secretly, deepening their bond as they planned the escape route. Glovia realized that escaping the castle proved much harder than she had earlier thought. Prince Luther was making matters worse by giving her jobs that even ten servants couldn’t complete. She barely had time to go see prince Stev. Since the last incident with her master, Prince Luther hadn’t asked her to bathe him again. She was relieved yet somewhat worried that he had something worse for her in mind. To get rid of the sad thoughts in her head, she started to think of her prince. She was tending to the garden next to prince Luther’s pavilion. Thoughts about prince Stev always dragged her out of her misery. The more she associated with him, the more her feelings for him deepened. She remembered the first day he called her his friend. She was shocked and honored that he had looked past t
Glovia ran straight for the training ground. When she arrived, Prince Stev wasn't there, so she waited for him in the garden. She couldn't concentrate. She was pacing around, worry etched on her tear-streaked face. She quickly wiped the tears that had managed to escape again and placed her hands on her waist. What would she tell Stev? She couldn't even face herself. Just as fear started to creep in on her, she heard footsteps. Hurriedly, she rushed out of the garden, suddenly bumping into Princ Stev, who apparently came her way. "Hey," he greeted, a shy smile on his face. "I thought I heard someone." Slowly, his smile vanished when he saw Glovia's face. "What happened?" he asked, gently taking her face in his hands. Glovia thought she could deal with it. She thought she could be strong. But the worried and angry look Stev had on his face caused her to break down, and she found herself leaning on him, crying out her heart. Prince Stev slowly embraced her and
