Chapter 12

Bella’s pov

The dungeon was dark, with only a small window letting in a sliver of sunlight.

I sat by the window, soaking in the precious sunlight.

I had been locked away for a day and a night, with no one coming to see me, not even bringing food or water.

Did they intend to starve me or let me die of thirst? It was truly despicable.

From start to finish, I was convicted too easily, too quickly.

I didn’t want to die, I didn’t want to be wrongly accused and lose my life in vain. My father and brothers were still fighting bloody battles on the border, and I hadn’t waited for Haydn to come back and tell him that I loved him.

April: Bella, are you okay?

Me: Yeah, I am okay. How about you?

April: (depressed, lying down) No, I am not okay.

Me: Hmm... let me tell you a joke.

April: What joke?

Me: We're still alive.

April: Is that it? What kind of joke is that?

April angrily scratched the ground with her two front paws.

Me: Haha, April, you don't look cute sighing with your head
