Face Off

Diane's POV

"I am sorry Sophie... I should have told you," I said absentmindedly.

What she was saying was the least of my worries. I was still bothered about this place and still worried about how we were going to get out alive and she had joined the group. Now I had to worry about her safety too. It would make my whole life completely messed up now if Macy was here too.

And then it occurred to me that since Lucius brought Fred, he could as well send for Macy.

"Sophie, my grandma isn't coming here too, right?" I suddenly asked, cutting into whatever she had been saying.

The question took her by shock. She paused for a second and looked into my face as if her brain had suddenly gone slow and it took time for her to process what I was asking.

"Sophie, is Macy here?" I repeated myself, my heart growing desperate.

"No..." she said with a distant look. "She isn't here. She had to stay back hoping that Fred would come home..."

I was going to ignore the rest of her sentence until the last pa
