Chapter 2

Vivian stood in front of the carriage ready to leave. Her eyes were calm yet her heart was aching badly. She felt suffocated and her wedding gown wasn't helping at all. Her eyes were on the huge castle, a place that was her home for the past 19 years now even though this castle and the kingdom had done nothing but give her pain, she would still miss her home. She would miss all the happy memories and sad ones. But most importantly, the little memories she has of her mother.

"You shouldn't have accepted the proposal, Vivian. We could have found a way to call off the marriage proposal or better still, Lucy, I would have made her accept the marriage" said Eve. Her eyes were close to tears and she was trying her best not to break down in front of Vivian. Once again, she was useless when it came to helping Vivian. She was powerless and there was nothing she could do. If only she could convince Sebastian. If only Sebastian will act like a father for once and care for his own daughter. There are times she wants to believe that Vivian isn't Sebastian's daughter but she knows that's impossible. She knows Sebastian too well, for him to take care of a child that doesn't belong to him. So why?! Why does he hate his daughter so much, why is he so keen on ruining his own daughter's life.

"People would think I'm your biological daughter and not Lucy?" Vivian chuckled. Even though Eve was her stepmother, she had done much for her, more than her mother ever did. Unlike her mother, she didn't abandon her. Unlike her mother, she had always stood beside her, fought for her and showered her with love. Eve has always treated her like her own daughter and she would forever be grateful to her for that.

Eve let out a sigh and held onto Vivian's hand, "Why did you agree to the marriage, Vivian? Why?!" she asked once again. She could still remember how Vivian refused when Sebastian asked her for the first time even though the latter threatened to still force her to get married to the Alpha. But two days ago, she came back home from a soiree and agreed to the marriage. And she had been asking her since then why she did but she refused to give her an answer and that scares her more than the marriage. She was scared that Vivian had a reason and that reason could ruin her. She was scared that the reason she accepted the marriage was something that would destroy her. Yes, she was smiling at her but she could still see the sadness lurking behind her eyes and that was killing her.

"I..."

"I'm sorry, your highness but it's time for Princess Vivian to leave" a guard interrupted and without thinking twice, Vivian turned around and climbed into the carriage.

"Vi..."

"It's high time you let go of her, Eve and take care of your daughter!" Sebastian interrupted, glaring at his wife.

Eve stood still, watching as the carriage left the palace. Her heart ached badly, seeing her leave and it hurts more when she knows that she can do nothing but t stand still and watch her go. There was so many questions she needed answers to but she knows to well that Sebastian would never give her answers to her question, he never does.

She had only heard bad rumors about the werewolves, how they kill without mercy and at that moment she couldn't help but hope that Vivian would be safe there.

A man stood in the corner of a room, holding a cigarette in his hand. His eyes were dark and cold with no emotions in them. His long silver hair covered a part of his face adding to the dark aura surrounding him. At that moment, he looked no less than a devil from hell.

"You should have spared the young girl," a voice sounded behind him. A young man in his twenties walked closer to him, standing behind him. His blue eyes were on the man that appears to be lost. "She must have thought of having a grand wedding, maybe not with the man she loves but with the man that would end up as her husband," he added, taking a cigarette from the packet and placing it between his lips not bothering to light it.

"Ahh," The red-eyed devil let out a light chuckle with his back still facing the blue-eyed man.

"She will soon be here, Styx. Your wife...I mean your bride will reach here soon and when she does, what will you be telling the elders? That you were too busy to attend your wedding or you just decided not to?" He asked, now playing with the cigarette in his hand. His eyes glowed briefly as if he found something amusing and went back to his usual somewhat cold eyes.

"Since when do I have to answer the elders, Theo?" His lips curled into a smirk. He was supposed to get married to the human girl for peace between the humans and the werewolves. He was the Alpha king after all and since the Moon Goddess decided not to give him a new mate, they decided to make him the sacrificial lamb instead.

"Then what are you going to do with her? You still have to get married to her unless you plan to make her your bride... forever?" Theo asked, his eyes now on Styx. He knows how Styx can be, especially when it comes to humans.

With a sly smile on his lips, Styx turned around, his gaze on Theo who was now staring back at him with curiosity in his eyes; "Who knows, she might be better off as my bride?"

Vivian was all alone in the carriage, she closed her eyes, getting used to the silence surrounding her. For a moment, she thought of running, maybe it was better for her to end it at that particular moment than later.

Tears escaped from her eyes, her head was hurting and her heart felt like it was being pierced by a dagger. She was doing all she could for them not to forget her. But deep down, she felt she would be forgotten by her father who despises her.

She was certain that her mother would have

forgot her already, she left her after all! She left her useless daughter with a man that doesn't care about her even though he was her father. Who knows he might not be her father…

Her lips curled up into a sad smile, how she wished death would just come at that moment and just take her. It would be better than having to wait…

Suddenly, she opened her eyes and asked the coachman to stop the carriage. A guard opened that carriage and asked with a bow, "Is there anything wrong, princess?"

"I...my stomach hurts. Can we stop for a moment, I promise to be back in a jiffy!" She lied through her teeth, acting as if she was in pain.

The guard stood still for a while, thinking if he should allow her or not. After contemplating for a while, he nodded his head and moved back a little for Vivian to get down from the carriage.

Vivian's lips curved up into a smirk, she pulled her wedding gown up and walked towards the bushes. She squatted down and when she was certain that the guards were not watching, she tore off her wedding gown and then....ran!
