Chapter 1
With a bouquet in her hand, Vivian walked through the aisle with a sullen expression on her face. Her eyes were calm, too calm but deep down she was battling with her emotions. She could feel their eyes on her, their scornful eyes. She was sacrificing her life for them but that still wasn't enough to put an end to the hatred they had for her. To them, she was a curse, a curse they needed to get rid of by giving her off to the bloodthirsty werewolves. She was getting married to their king and what they also called their Alpha. Getting married to a man, she wasn't allowed to even see his picture, she was getting married to a total stranger. They only told her that he was bedridden, he was an old man and she would have to take care of him for the rest of her life. Her life was on the line but they didn't care, they never did. She was cursed after all and they needed to get rid of her, to get rid of her bad luck.She finally reached the altar, facing the priest who had a smile on his face but behind that smile, she could see pity in his eyes. He felt pity for her, who wouldn't? She was at the altar, waiting for her groom. He was supposed to be the one waiting but she was the one waiting. All her life she had been waiting and she's still waiting.Hours passed by and Vivian was still standing alone at the altar, waiting for the man she was meant to get married to. But it seems, once again she would have to experience the pain of being left all alone. She could hear the murmurs. Once again, they were blaming her for her groom leaving her at the altar. No... refusing to come to his own wedding, he must have realized that getting married to her would only add to his misfortunes."Your legs must be hurting, why don't you take a seat?" The Priest asked with a smile on his face. He felt sorry for the poor girl but then there was nothing he could do for her except offer her his sympathy."I'm fine!" She responded but deep down she was far from being fine. She was tired, tired of everything...for a minute, she really wished the world would come to an end, she felt suffocated and she wanted the pain in her heart to come to a stop. Her heart was aching and she was slowly losing her mind. At that moment, she only wished for a thing...death.A guard ran in, giving a letter to the king. King Sebastian held the letter in his hand for a while, staring emotionlessly at the letter. He knew who the letter was from but he was afraid of opening it, afraid that the Alpha might have had a change of mind and decided not to get married to his daughter. Then, everything he had worked for will go down the drain and he will be left with nothing."What's going on?" Eve, Vivian's stepmother asked worriedly. She was afraid and at the same time scared of what the letter held. She never approved of the marriage because she was scared for Vivian. She was scared that she wouldn't be able to adjust and live comfortably with the Alpha but most importantly she was scared for Vivian's life.Sebastian let out a sigh, his hand was shaking and his mind was in chaos but still, he had no choice but to open the letter. He removed the string around the letter, unfolding it slowly. He closed his eyes briefly, opened the letter, and gazed through it. His lips curled up into a smile when he read the content of the letter. Alpha Styx won't be canceling the wedding after all.Eve noticed the smile on the king's face, without thinking twice she yanked the letter from the king's hand. She gasped in shock reading the letter's content, 'he won't be coming for the wedding, instead he wants Vivian to be sent to Gael!'"This..." Eve stuttered, gazing at Vivian who had no idea about what was happening. The girl had gone through a lot already and now....this. She wasn't even given a chance to marry for love but she was forced to marry a man she had never seen nor had an encounter with and instead of gracing her with his presence to show that he cared for her, he won't be able to come!"We will send her right away! I'm glad that her bad luck won't be ruining this for me!" Said Sebastian nonchalantly. All he wanted was his deal with the Alpha. He only cared about his life and not his good-for-nothing daughter. She had always given him nothing but pain, it was high time he got rid of her."She's your daughter, Sebastian!" Eve yelled angrily, gathering the attention of those present in the church. They all turned their gaze toward their king while Vivian still stood rooted to where she was, not moving an inch."Lower your voice, woman!" She was his wife yet she dared to yell at him."For once, Sebastian! Can't you just show her a little bit of sympathy, you forced her to agree to marry that man, and, now this! Don't you see that he has no feelings nor respect for your daughter, ""I didn't force her, she agreed to it, Eve and I'm sure you know that. She's my daughter not yours! So keep your mouth shut!" He retorted.Vivian's lips curled into a sad smile, she could feel her head aching and it was hurting so badly. She didn't know what was happening but she knew one thing for sure, this marriage was something that would lead to her doom. It was meant to be the happiest day of her life but it turns out it would be one of the days that would hunt her for the rest of her lives because she was pretty sure she would regret everything. The day she agreed to the marriage and the moment she chose to stay when she could have run away and ended everything. But she doesn't care, she has three months after all. She only has three months."You can't do this to her Sebastian, please," cried Eve. Even though Vivian wasn't her biological daughter, she had loved and cared for her. She had showered her with love and been there for her because that was the only way she could think of to mend the girl's broken heart. She had gone through a lot, went through hell and this might break her...it already broke her, more than she could ever know. She had always dreamt of a fairytale wedding, where she will get married to the man she wants. She wasn't even allowed to fulfill her dream and now this... "Send her to the Alpha, he's waiting for her!" Sebastian ordered the guards, ignoring Eve's pleading. He went through a lot before he was able to form this alliance with the Alpha and he won't be giving up on it because of a girl that had only given him nothing but pain. This was the only way he could get rid of his good-for-nothing daughter and nothing not, anyone would stop him. It was either she leaves now or he would have to get her killed.Vivian stood in front of the carriage ready to leave. Her eyes were calm yet her heart was aching badly. She felt suffocated and her wedding gown wasn't helping at all. Her eyes were on the huge castle, a place that was her home for the past 19 years now even though this castle and the kingdom had done nothing but give her pain, she would still miss her home. She would miss all the happy memories and sad ones. But most importantly, the little memories she has of her mother."You shouldn't have accepted the proposal, Vivian. We could have found a way to call off the marriage proposal or better still, Lucy, I would have made her accept the marriage" said Eve. Her eyes were close to tears and she was trying her best not to break down in front of Vivian. Once again, she was useless when it came to helping Vivian. She was powerless and there was nothing she could do. If only she could convince Sebastian. If only Sebastian will act like a father for once and care for his own daughter. There
Vivian ran as fast her legs could, she ran as if her life depended on it. She was now regretting her decision to marry Alpha...Alpha Styx. Instead of having to die in the hands of a bloodthirsty werewolf or waiting for death. It would be better for her to just end her life at that moment.One of the guards spotted her running and shouted, "Princess Vivian!" The remaining two guards left the carriage and ran after her.Not bothering to take a look behind her, she kept running and running till she lost sight of the guards. She stopped, holding on to a tree, gasping for air. She should have thought of this earlier instead of troubling herself with all these. It would have been better if the Alpha had come for the wedding, they would have gotten married and she would have left him a present, her death. Her eyes were on the cliff in front of her, she walked towards the cliff with a smile on her face. She stood at the edge of the cliff, looking down and hoping that the ground wasn't that f
Vivian's journey to Gael continued, not in a carriage with the guards but with a werewolf who claimed to be Alpha Styx's advisor and forced her to walk to the palace with him. Someone she couldn't help but be scared of."You must hate Alpha Styx a lot?" Karl commented, his lips curling into a smile. This was the first time he would see a lady, choosing to rather die than to marry his Alpha. Alpha Styx was ruthless, but the ladies still couldn't help but fall at his feet which was why he found Vivian's behavior... interesting. Vivian let out a sigh and responded; "I don't hate him, I'm scared of spending the rest of my life with a bedridden man""Bedridden?" Karl asked, confused."Yes! According to the rumors I have heard so far, Alpha Styx is one of the weak werewolves. He has been bedridden for years now and he also..." Vivian stopped for a while, she gazed around to see if no one was there. "Stinks!""Oh?!" Karl mumbled quietly, he bit his lips to stop himself from laughing. How he
"I'll put her to a much better use, Leo. She'll be my favorite toy, my favorite sex toy""Styx!" Leo yelled, he finally lost his anger. "She's your...""If I had known you held me with such high esteem..." Vivian paused, staring deep into Styx's eyes. She was never expecting a warm welcome but this was far from something she expected. "I would have been here a bit earlier, Alpha.. No, master?" Vivian said with a smile."Princess Vivian?" Leo mumbled silently. He brushed his hair with his fingers, frustrated and angry. Styx kept his gaze at the woman not far from him. He stared at her for a while and as if she never existed, he removed his gaze from her, ignoring her.'I hate him already,' Vivian mused, cursing Styx in her mind. "My lady, Alpha Styx was just... joking. Yes, he was only joking!" Leo tried to explain, the last thing he wanted was for Vivian to return back to her Kingdom with hatred for them. Their marriage was the only way they could bring back the balance between the
Vivian was still on the ground, still in the same position Alpha Styx had left her in. Recently, she had been too lazy to do so many things and one of them was stressing her body. This would be her first time in the palace after all and she had no idea where she had to go. So, she just decided to wait for the Alpha here until she remembers her. Who knows, he might fall for her then after seeing how stubborn and cute she is."What are you doing?" asked Karl, walking into the courtroom. Vivian raised her head, staring into his eyes and then let out a frustrated sigh. "I was only trying to seduce him, you know. He said I was his sex toy after all and I was trying to show him how thankful I am," Karl gazed at her for a while as if he was trying to possess everything that was happening. For a while, he couldn't help but wonder if she was the same person that tried to kill herself a few hours ago. Now, she was just sitting down here acting all... childish?He let out a deep sigh and said;
"He's supposed to be old and bedridden?!" Vivian yelled. She didn't remember when she saw him for the first time in the courtroom. No woman would be in her right senses, hearing a man and her so-called groom calling her a sex toy. "And you believed it," Karl replied, raising his eyebrows. He would have told her back in the forest but he thought it would be more fun when she realized that the rumors were wrong. He was already anticipating how her reaction would be but then Alpha Styx had to ruin all the fun. Why must he call her a sex toy the second they arrived at the courtroom?! But...this is also enough to compensate for his previous loss."Don't blame me, blame the rumors!" Vivian snapped. Come to think about it, how come she didn't remember when she saw him back at the courtroom? She...like every single person in her kingdom had the belief that the man she was getting married to was an old, bedridden man. That was why they were more eager to get her married to him. They hated her
'Drowning!'She gasped for air, trying so hard to open her eyes but she couldn't. She felt suffocated and no matter how hard she tried to get out, she couldn't. Her breath was getting uneven and then..."I told you I'll be back for you didn't I?"A soft voice sounded in her ears, that voice. It was the same voice she had gotten used to over the ears. The voice that had come to hunt her ever since her mother left her alone."You can never get away from me, little girl!""I'll soon be with you,""Ahh," Vivian moaned softly, opening her eyes. She looked around, trying to process where she saw. She sat down, wiping the sweat that had formed on her forehead.She turned to look at the open window. It was past midnight already, she stood up and walked towards the balcony. Vivian was still in her ripped wedding gown. Her eyes were calm and sad. She brushed her fingers through her hair, frustrated. She let out a sigh, staring keenly at the moon. There were a lot of things going on in her min
"Eloise," Vivian repeated. "Yes, my lady""You have a beautiful name," said Vivian. She stood up, helping Eloise to her feet."Thank you, my lady," she bowed, showing her gratitude.Vivian smiled, she gazed at her for a while, walking back to the balcony. She closed her eyes, enjoying the way the morning breeze felt on her skin, it made her feel warm and comforted. "My lady?" Eloise called, playing with her fingers nervously. She completely forgot the main reason she was there in the first place."Hmm,""The king asked me to inform you to come to dining hall immediately,"Shocked, she opened her eyes and turned around to face Eloise. She was excited and at the same time curious about why he wanted to see her when he told her to stay far away from him. Not that she was going to that anyway."Why?" She asked, her eyes glowing with interest."I have no idea about that, my lady, " Eloise responded with a bow. Vivian's lips curled into a huge smile. Could it be that he decided not to st
