Edward sat up on his bed after the sleep he had been praying for for hours refused to come. He looked at Emily who laid on the floor and sighed. What was he doing?

He gently got off the bed and grabbed his hat that he had placed on the bedside table beside him. He took a small glace at Emily who was snoring peacefully on the duvet. As he watched her, he could not help but ask himself again if what he was about doing was right.

He walked past her towards the door but suddenly stopped after she snorted. He turned and looked at her to see if she had woken. He sighed as he heard her snore away. She had not.

He placed his hands on the door knob and slowly turned it, opening it with a small click. He pulled the door open and slowly stepped outside into the dark hallway.

He slowly walked towards the stairs and stopped short after he reached the top. After looking down to the ground floor and seeing that there was no one there, he ran with precision down the stairs.
