Third POV

"No, I didn't. I was just passing by," Harper replied.

"Do not lie. Tell me, did you see something?" Carter's face darkened.

"I didn't go inside the study," Harper insisted.

"Is that so? Then show me your backpack," Carter reached out towards Harper's backpack, but she quickly stepped back.

Carter's expression turned extremely scary. "You already know, don't you?"

Sensing the danger emanating from him, Harper tried to remain calm. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Then hand me that damn bag!" Carter charged forward, one hand gripping Harper's neck and the other trying to snatch her backpack.

"Yes, I know! What are you going to do, kill me?" Seeing that Wyatt didn't believe what she said at all, Harper simply roared loudly.

Carter stopped his movements and said in a harsh tone, "Why will you never learn to be good? What else can I do to get rid of your recklessness?" His face was hidden in the shadows as if he had changed into another person.
