CHAPTER 23

I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing either. The king's wing? Personal servant? What was happening? I looked around and all the girls had left the dining area. I had to find Martha. I couldn't accept this. It was enough that I was forced to be here. I won't be around him.

I stepped out of the dining room, heading straight to the kitchen to find Martha. I entered, looking around but I couldn't see her.

"You want something?" One of the women asked and I nodded.

"Yes. I need to find Martha. Do you know where she is?"

"No. She hasn't stopped by here today. Have you checked her bedroom?"

Bedroom? Was that the place she had taken me to that day? I couldn't remember the way to that place.

"Can you point out her room to me?"

"Ask around," the woman said and went back to what she was doing. I knew I wouldn't be getting any more help from her so I went outside.

There was hardly any servant in sight and the ones I did see were hurrying off, but bothering to stop whe
