~Alana~
“Alric? What’s wrong?” Alana asked while they rode in the car to the destination of their special family dinner. “You have been silent the entire drive?”
Her eyes wandered to his hands that had formed into fists for a good five minutes. Alana sensed, Alric was agitated. She just had to get some answers.
“Yes, daddy? What’s wrong?” Kai echoed his mother’s worries, seeing his father constantly looking out the window.
Alric smiled faintly, his eyes dull. His adam’s apple bobbed, suggesting he gulped before answering, “It’s nothing. Just something I need to deal with back home.”
Inside the luxury Maybach, Alana was sitting beside Alric, and Kai was in front of him. Alric rumpled Kai’s hair and apologized. “I’m sorry, son. Your daddy is a busy man and sometimes, my mind is frequently thinking about business.”
“It’s okay, daddy,” Kai replied with a smile, still over the moon of having found his father.
