Chapter 26: Choose A Luna

~Alana~

It had been over an hour since Alana and Kai were walking, following the main road and hoping to spot anyone, just anyone that could help them.

They had not eaten for over twenty-four hours, nor had anything to drink. Kai was on the verge of fainting, and Alana was worried sick.

“Mommy, I’m starving and thirsty,” Kai said, sniffing the tears that had dried from the fever of the sun.

“I know, baby. I’m sorry. We’ll find someone soon. We’ll find food,” she answered, feeling her heart being crushed altogether.

It did not help that Alana had been walking barefoot. Her heels had given up thoroughly, and there was just no way she could keep at it. She was still in her hotel uniform; a white blouse and a mini-skirt. Like her heels, she had long thrown away her coat.

She heard her stomach growling and that of Kai. Alana knew she had to find food quickly. The last meal they ate was the lasagna Aiden brought.

Is this going to be one of those tragic stories? I try to stay away from those. I read Lillhyz books because they are funny with little dramas that are solved quickly, this one is not Viking the same way.

I already corrected where it says mother and daughter vs. a son. Thank you very much for pointing that out. it will be adjusted in 24 hours when goodnovel editors report for work.
