Alric could not help but be angry with himself. How could he have not seen this coming? But then again, the enemy’s plans have changed, and they were taken by surprise at how early they had lured Alana.

The connection with the pack warriors guarding the eastern borders was cut short, and Alric knew why. Clearly, his men were under attack!
With an imposing growl, the Alpha ordered all of his men to their latest lead and, as he darted in the same direction, he tried relentlessly to call for his son. ‘Kai? Where are you? Are you safe? Be safe for me and your mother, son. Be safe.’
