Confrontation

This gesture comes as a surprise to Marcus, whose eyes light up as his mind runs through the list of possibilities of why Emily has decided to be this nice to him. Is there a chance she is beginning to warm up to him, after all? Perhaps she has come to realize Mathew might be living a fake life and decided to make a beeline for it.

True to her words, Emily accompanies him to the dining room and provides entertainment in form of conversation.

"So, where have you been? I looked everywhere for you and didn't find you."

That sounds like a wife demanding to know her husband's whereabouts, a jealous wife. He likes it.

"To do the usual boring things, you know, work and stuff."

"Okay."

Even though Emily knows it is rude to stare directly at someone when they are eating, she can't help herself. Marcus doesn't seem to mind so she feeds her sight with his gorgeous presence. Marcus is really blessed in terms of looks, so much that Emily marvels every time she looks at him. He is a graceful man, ev
