Chapter Forty-Seven

Lucas sighed heavily, his troubled expression visible to his beta, Torrez. They sat together in Lucas's study, surrounded by shelves lined with books and papers scattered across the desk. Lucas fidgeted with a pen, his thoughts still consumed by the haunting nightmares that plagued his sleep.

"Torrez, these dreams... they feel different," he confessed, his voice tinged with a touch of unease. "They're more than just anxiety about my new role as alpha. There's something... foreboding about them."

Torrez leaned back in his chair, a bemused smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Come on, Lucas," he chuckled lightly. "You're letting the weight of your responsibilities get to you. It's natural to have a few restless nights after taking on such a huge role. You're just overthinking things."

His brow furrowed in frustration. "No, it's more than that. They feel very real. It's almost like they are premonitions, warning me of something... something ominous."
