Chapter Twenty-Five

Lucas had felt Marcella as soon as she got into the library that Saturday morning, thanks to the growing bond between them. Resolving to avoid her as he still felt guilty about the way he had treated her earlier that week, he quickly moved his things from the second floor to the fifth floor and picked a secluded spot to continue working on the quiz he was going to give her class the next Monday.

He also noticed that a certain group of teenage girls who had been on the second floor had also changed positions and followed him, not so discreetly but he chose to act oblivious to their presence, shaking his head at the thought that humans could be so superficial. His escape however was short-lived when he felt Marcella drawing closer to his location a few minutes later until he caught a faint whiff of her scent from behind him.
