Damien sat on the edge of his bed, deep in thought, as the events of the day kept replaying in his mind over and over again.

Isabella was the first human he had ever encountered who made him feel something weird. Something he had never felt before. He couldn't explain why, but he was drawn to her. It was a dangerous feeling, but it was there nonetheless.

There was no denying that having Isabella in his pack would bring about challenges, but he couldn't just leave her to fend for herself in a world she seemed to know nothing about. He had to protect her, even if it meant going against the norm.

Just as he was about to lose himself in his thoughts completely, there was a knock on his door.

"Come in," Damien called out.

The door opened, and in walked Julie, a vampire who had been a part of his pack since the beginning. They had been through a lot together, and Damien considered her one of his closest confidantes, despite the fact that she was different from him.

"What's on your mind?"
