Lucas sat at his desk in his office, surrounded by a sea of paperwork that demanded his attention. He was engrossed in the details, determined to stay focused despite the storm of emotions that had recently torn through his life.

He had made a choice, one that had consequences, and he couldn't afford to let his guard down.

But his concentration was shattered when the door to his office swung open with a force that startled him. He looked up, his irritation bubbling just below the surface. The unexpected intrusion was Ava, with an annoyed look etched across her face.

"What are you doing in my office?" Lucas asked, his voice tinged with irritation, as he didn't anticipate her sudden appearance. He wanted to know why she had barged into his workspace without so much as a knock. He didn't want to appear unfriendly, but the pressures of the day weighed on him.
