Chapter 122

The first thing that came to my senses was a sound. Slight humming of a tune I knew by heart, making me smile inwardly.

I tried to let the sound lull me to sleep, but it was as if my body was protesting, screaming at me that I had had enough sleep.

At that point, I knew trying to get back to sleep was pointless, so I simply opened my eyes, slowly at first till I adjusted to the light of the sun setting far in the west reflecting from the large glass.

I tried to remember where I was and what was going on, but I kept drawing a blank.

Then it hit me.

His scent.

“Tabitha,” I felt a small shake on my arm, the voice laced with so much emotions, and a hint of disbelief.

When I turned to the voice, a large body crashed against me, causing me to wince.

“I'm so sorry,” he rushed out.

I blinked once. Twice. But he was still there.

I tried to sit up straighter, but a wave of dizziness washed through me, sending me back down.

“Easy, easy,” he cooed, placed his hand on my shoulder and helped me up.
