My eyes burned. My chest tightened and the simple act of breathing became a challenge I seemed to be losing at with each passing second.

I wiped the tears away with the back of my palm, but no matter how many times I blinked or closed my eyes, when I opened them again, the image haunted me, mocked me, and question everything I knew.
