Out like a corpse

I was exhausted after sitting still in a single position for over an hour. My ass hurt and it felt like it had been glued to a frying pan.

I rose to my feet, my eyes flickering around my bedroom like I was searching for something.

Perhaps if Emma hadn't told me she was heading out, then it would have been a perfect reason for me to look out.

I squinted as your bright light shone right into my eyes. It wasn't a part of me and on most occasions, I make sure to keep the lights out.

Thirsty and hungry, my belly made a loud rumbling sound. My hand fell on my belly as I arose to my feet.

Goodness gracious! A sigh of relief escaped from my lips with my hands outstretched.

My feet glided against the cold tiled floor until I was out of the room. All was still and quiet, leaving me confused.

"Where could they have gone?" I said it in a loud voice as I descended the stairs. All that could be heard was the ticking sound of the wall clock hanging above my head.
