Ava's POV

I sighed as I arrived in front of the palace. I looked up at the magnificence of the place I would soon call home. It usually made me feel excited but today it didn't really get me happy. Especially as I remembered how I left it last night.

I sank down to the floor after Alaric stormed away. My body was shaking uncontrollably as I tried to convince myself that he couldn't have possibly meant what he said.
