CHAPTER 17
Booke rummaged through her things for a small box of chocolate and popped it into her mouth as she walked through the halls of the university. It had only been a few days since she had told her dead husband that she was on tape, and everything seemed to be going well between them.
Nathan was behaving in a way that she liked very much. Booke felt good about him because he was spoiling her, giving her all her cravings. Some of those were lies, she just wanted to see her husband behind her believing the baby needed something.
Nicole, that omega, was hiding things from him that he was going to find out soon enough, even if it cost him his life. He would not stand idly by and watch her try to get away from people; he had suspicions that her brother was again harassing her for information.

Booke was in sheets up to under his armpits, due to the wounds he had on his arm thanks to the scratches Danielle had given him. He even had bandages on one of his hands because some of his fingers had been fractured from the blows, he'd given Danielle to her face. But every damn blow was worth it because that woman was a harpy of the worst and she had earned his hatred with what she did and said to him. He was staring at the ceiling of the room unable to move; his arms and a little above the belly hurt a lot, it was just due to a scare, or that was what the doctor had mentioned to him. -Hello," Booke ignored Nathan's voice, "Don't ignore me, please. -I want to be alone," she answered, still looking at the ceiling. Liam looked over to where Nicole's brother was standing and something about that guy told him he couldn't be trusted no matter how many years he had working at the mansion as security. That guy never seemed like a good person at all, he was hiding something..., something told him he was not to be trusted. A message on his phone made him look away from him and his friends. -Shit," was all that came out of her mouth. This must be a joke. -He put his phone in his pocket, putting aside what he was doing. -Can you give me a ride into town? -Nathan appeared in his path. Booke hid under her husband's body as soon as the sun's rays touched her face. She didn't want to go to school that day, but it seemed impossible as Nathan began to leave kisses on her face. That was no good, she had to stand up and get ready to take her classes. -When will we know the sex of the baby? -Nathan asked, sitting up. -I told you it would be a surprise. -He kissed her breast. The doctor came and said that everything was fine, that I should continue taking my medication as usual. -I want to win the bet," he chuckled, "so I can tie you to the bed for a whole month and not let you leave here. -I'd better stand up now," she snorted with the sheet covering her body, "Don't mess with me," she stopped him when he got off the bed, "I don't want to take that long.

Nathan arrived at the house with a smile on his face, but it was wiped off the moment he saw all his men lying on the floor, obviously dead. His alpha senses were alerted to the fullest, so he ran towards the house feeling Liam's footsteps. When he entered the dwelling, he saw Nicole lying on the floor passed out and feared the worst, due to the drowsy gas in the air. Liam grabbed Nicole in his arms because she was reacting. When Nicole knew where she was and instantly remembered what was happening, she threw herself crying in Liam's arms, who hugged her in an overprotective way; she was already feeling things for that pretty-eyed omega, or rather, she was already feeling them. -What the hell happened here? -Nathan asked, totally furious about what was going on. Booke looked out the window facing the street to see the sky, which was being hidden by black clouds that announced that it was already going to rain. She sighed heavily as her baby began to stir in there. Although she still didn't know what the sex was, she felt it was a boy... But she was more than sure it was not just one, but two. The door opened revealing a very beautiful beta with a tray of food. The girl approached Booke with a shy smile and set the tray on the bedside table. -When she eats everything, I brought, she'll get a prize," and she walked out after saying that. Booke frowned and sat down on the bed to take the food the girl had left for him. He thought repeatedly if maybe the food was poisoned, but his hunger overcame anything that crossed his mind.

Nathan held his son in his arms, while Booke held the girl. After Booke had fainted, the men Nathan's father had sent to fetch Booke and take her back to him arrived, but now they were taking them both to Nathan's house on Yaser's orders. Nathan watched as Booke held his little girl while she nursed her. When they arrived at Nathan's house, the doors were opened for them. Nathan waited until Booke was next to him; she only had a blanket covering her nakedness and not that she liked how those untraded alphas looked at her with lustful eyes. Booke and Nathan started walking towards the entrance of the house, where the boys were in the living room with their rosary in their mouths because they had not heard anything from Nathan since he had gone into the forest to look for Booke.

Five years later Nathan had Booke's head on his chest as he massaged her hair. He watched her through the mirror that was on one of the open closet doors. He sighed with great happiness to have Booke with him after he had given her two wonderful children who, despite having just turned five, were tremendous. And yes, it had been five long years since Nathan and Booke had married under less than pleasant circumstances, but they were still together, nonetheless. Booke, now twenty-six years old, still had the same face as when she was twenty, which was one of the advantages of being marked by her alpha or her mate: always staying young.
