56: Feral

It was dusk and the sun was sinking into the horizon when Percival stepped into his home. His shift had ended for the day and all he could think of was a warm bath and a bottle of wine.

Strangely enough, he found himself thinking of the woman that had arrived at the castle that day. Kalista. She was a very beautiful woman, but she was strange. Although he had allowed her to go because the metal detector had malfunctioned and also because he felt she was really a human, still he couldn't stop feeling suspicious of her.

She was strange indeed, and he found it hard to believe that a woman as beautiful as her wasn't a witch. He would just have to keep a close eye on her. If she turned out to be dangerous, he would have to destroy her quickly, to protect the people of Nirvana. That was his oath as a knight.

But if she turned out to be harmless and innocent, maybe, just maybe, he could start up something with her. He had been alone for too long. He needed a female companion.
