Chapter 24 | You and Me

I look over my shoulder to see a man and a woman that I’ve never seen before, but behind them… I see the pack doctor trying to quietly beckon me. I give him a single nod and send a mind link to him saying, “Go to the sitting area on the Alpha’s floor. I’ll be with you momentarily.”

I must’ve accidentally had my mind block up because I can’t think of any other reason that he would come to seek me out. My eyes flicker to the man and the woman, but they aren’t looking at me, they’re looking at Bryce.

I look back at Bryce to see that he has slightly paled as he says, “Mom, dad, what are you doing here?”

His mom scoffs, “Is that any way to treat your parents when you haven’t seen them in months? Come give me a hug.”

He pushes off the counter and obliges with her request. He gives his mom a hug, but when he faces his father, he holds his shoulders back and gives a firm handshake and says, “Nice to see you, sir.”
