Chapter 52-Wren

We get into the house, and Valen still hasn’t a word to me. His silence is killing me. There was a time when his silence didn’t phase me. Sometimes I welcomed it. That was back when I thought of him as my cruel mate. We have made progress since then, and I enjoy the sound of his voice now. I find it soothing. I hate that he’s not talking to me, which makes me super nervous.

Valen doesn’t say a word as he makes his way to his home office. I watch as he passes the door to the den. He pauses briefly at the door, looks at it, and I fear what he is thinking. Would he lock me back down there? To my relief, Valen walks on and enters his office. I didn’t realize I was still afraid he might lock me in the den again. I guess since I’ve been back and we have worked on our relationship, I stopped fearing being locked in the den.
