Parker's P.O.V.

I couldn't help but scowl at Jack as he sat at the head of the breakfast table the next morning. My wolf was livid that he had to submit to the lesser wolf, but we both understood that we needed to follow the pack hierarchy. It was difficult, but it was possible.

Not only had Kate been the one to come knock on my bedroom door this morning to tell us breakfast was ready, but Kaylee had woken up feeling very sore. She had struggled to get ready for the day, but after a long hot shower, she seemed better. I still noticed the way she flinched when reaching across the table to help herself to some scrambled eggs.

I didn't even stop to think about the two of us being different species when I had marked her. There was the chance her body would try to turn on the full moon next week. Based on how she was feeling today, I would say her chances of turning or trying to were high.

If she did, I wasn't sure if her abilities would stay
