“Are we doing this correctly?” Xander asked me as we chopped the vegetables mentioned in the recipe.

“Is there a wrong way to chop vegetables?” I wondered as I cut the yellow pepper into long slices.

“You have a point.” He chuckled. “Cutting onions is the worst! I don't like how my tears are running uncontrollably,” he huffed, making me laugh. “I don't even know what I'm crying about!”

“I got scissors, you got paper. You lost. End of discussion,” I teased him and put the pepper in the pan.

After lots of complaining from Xander and me teasing him about how his eyes were watery and red, we put all the vegetables in the pan and we kept stirring them in the cup of oil we added before putting the vegetables.

“Just a pinch. Don't add too much!” I instructed him as he added salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
