“I’m pregnant.”I heard metalware clanging with the ceramic plates, and I looked as everyone looked at Amelia with shock.
I thought those exact words would be coming straight from my mouth, but they didn’t. It was from Amelia’s.
She looked at us with teary eyes and turned to Kairo. “You’re going to be a father, babe.” She said while making her way to him and hugging his frozen stature. His eyes were blank, and he looked ahead on an empty space.
Everyone was still silent. I was expecting to hear a “Congratulations,” but we were met with deafening silence. She moved away from Kairo and started speaking once again.
“I know that this may come as a surprise to all of you, and I honestly thought that I could hide it a little bit more. But, I thought it would be best for all of you to know since you’re all Kairo’s dear friends and family.”
