Cole sat in his chair, his attention fixed on Mason, who was in charge of the ward he was in.

As the patients sat still, Manson munched on his burger from behind the counter. He sighed as he gazed at the wall clock.

He dropped the burger he was eating on the nylon on the counter and licked his fingers. Then cleaned them off with a hand wipe before picking up the bell and ringing it.

"It's pill time," he declared, ringing the bell.

Some caregivers entered the ward to assist the patients in forming a straight line as they approached Mason, who handed each a tablet and a cup of water to drink.

"Take a pee when you're done," he urged after having them swallow the tablets.

Because these patients were not as ill as the ones Madison was caring for, the caregivers did not accompany them to the restroom to assist them in peeing.

And the medications they were taking weren't nearly as effective as the ones Madison's patients were given.
