The Stranger

I have been in my room nursing my injuries since I was released. Suddenly, my door flew open and Diane stormed in.

“Well, well, well, look how pitiful you look. You should have listened to me and stopped when you had the chance. Too bad, you brought this upon yourself.”

“Is this what you came to tell me?” I asked, not wanting to start an argument with Diane. It was a waste of time for me to do so.

“No, not at all, just that I found you someone who would like after you?”

I froze and took my gaze up at Diane.

“What are you up to this time, Diane?”

“Guess what?” Just then, a woman walked into the room. She doesn't seem that familiar, but seeing how she looked, she reminded me of Diane.

“She will be your mom now, so you had better behave.”

“What?” I couldn't believe what Diane had just said.

“You mean she's my…hold on a minute. This is your mom?”

Diane suddenly curved her lips in a wicked smile. I'm glad you know exactly what I'm trying to say now.”
