40. Another Conversation with Dimitri

The day had been filled with surprises, from unwanted visitors searching for the ruby stone to exploring the beach house's underground passageway and exiting at Montgomery's backyard to rescuing Dimitri and his human mate.
What a day indeed.
During dinner, Romeo had announced that he would remain at the beach house with us. He suspects James and his posse could be returning for another search and wanted to make sure that I am safe.

My plan for some alone time with Annabelle last night failed miserably when she took to bed like a fish in water. Annabelle Aoki I stayed in Romeo's bedroom for as long as I could. An hour later, I couldn't ignore the pang of hunger rumbling from my stomach. Apparently, mister I will keep you captive has forgotten all about me or maybe decided that I'm not worth feeding. So I determined to take matters into my own hands, by heading to the kitchen. Lucky for them,my late grandmother had a great selection of relics in her collection. I selected a rune that's easiest for them to use, no incantations needed. It's a small, pocket-sized rune, imbued with a revealing spell. To use it, Trav would just need to wave the rune in front of him, and should there be dark magic or magical traps nearby, it would be revealed for a limited time. I hope whatever it is that they're planning would be effective in stopping Nari. Physically, Romeo may be stronger than Nari but physical strength is not always necessary when you're using magic.
