Aurora’s POV

The beach was crowded. I had forced Alexis to let me go.

It was a short moment to get away from my problems, but it felt like an eternity of waiting and watching for someone to come along and rescue me from the ocean as if I were some sort of lost, injured bird that had somehow ended up in front of his door and he could only save me by taking care of it.

After what seemed like forever, we were pushing through the crowds trying to go back home in order to get there before dark and get ready for dinner.
