Alpha Alexis POV

“When do I get to leave?” Aurora asked as her blue eyes pierced through me with determination and a little bit of apprehension, a little bit of hope, a lot of fear that would probably stay for the rest of her life.“Soon,” I promised. “As soon as you are well enough.”

“Why don't I believe you? I think I am well enough and that you haven't found a good reason yet, so just give me an answer and stop beating around the bush.” She scowled up at me. Her blonde hair stuck out on the side, sticking out of its messy bun. A piece had fallen in her eyes. But she didn't seem to notice.

“Aurora, as much as I would like to keep you here for longer even if it's against your will doesn't mean I would stop you from leaving if you are well enough. You need rest right now. That is all there is to it.”

“I don't think so. Why are you being so cagey about this whole thing? Just tell me already!”
