Dante’s POVAfter two hours of running, we were all hungry and exhausted. We were so close to getting to her, but I had to put the pack's wellbeing first. We stopped to hunt a herd of deer and spent another hour resting. I found Jalen lapping up water from the spring. Jalen, I really appreciate your help. He glanced over at me. Of course. I think I owe you for being such a generous host for the past week. There was humor in his voice. I've been meaning to ask why you haven't returned to your pack, not even once to check on them. He grew silent for a long moment. I'm...I'm a coward, he admitted quietly. Ever since Jacob was killed, I've had a hard time adjusting. Luna Kamala has been running the day-to-day operations. Of course, I would come running in an emergency, but I just needed a break from everything. That rogue you lied to me about gave me the perfect excuse to get away. A break from staring at the spot that I found his body in. A break from standing
Dante’s POVThe rogues turned their attention to me. "Fuck, someone's out there!" Noah hissed, "Justin, go alert David now!" They both shifted. The wolves with yellow-tinged fur were smaller and thinner than most of my warriors; they had no chance against us. Justin ran in the opposite direction towards the front of the house. Jalen, one's on the way. I'll take care of the other one myself. Everyone else, look out for David or any other wolves that happen to show up. I licked my canines as I lunged at Noah, knocking him to the ground. He quickly recovered and we began circling each other. He charged at me, but I dodged it effortlessly; his movements slow and predictable. His anger seemed to flair and he crouched down to attack me again. We lunged at the same time and the air became filled with the sound of vicious snarls, the clashing of ivory claws, and the snapping of jaws as we fought. As soon as the opportunity arose, I sunk my canines into the flesh of
Angel's POV After Noah and Justin were ordered to leave, Dante pulled me into his hard, bare chest. He was completely naked, but I dared not look down. I could feel that he was still tense from what just happened; I couldn't even imagine what was running through his mind. I was adamant that even though they were rogues who had kidnapped me, at least Noah deserved to live. Dante looked like he had been through hell and back. The cuts he got during his fight with Noah were quickly healing up, but he had a lot of dried blood on him, some I didn't even think was his. His hair was a mess; his eyes were as black as the night, and they had huge bags underneath them. Because my wolf was repressed, I didn't feel the full effects of being apart from a mate, but looking at him, I had to be somewhat grateful for the wolfsbane. "Fuck, I missed you," he growled huskily. I rubbed the soft skin of his back. "I missed you too," I mumbled against
Angel’s POV I looked up at the ceiling as we washed ourselves in silence. When my gaze met Dante’s again, he was staring at me intensely. "Why are you staring?" I asked nervously, feeling my face flush again. "This just feels surreal. I finally have you back and now we're showering together," he breathed. "D-Do you want to look?" My own question took me by surprise. He raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to?" "Yes," I whispered, not even giving it a second thought. I watched his eyes darken with lust as they slowly traveled down my body, tracing every line...every curve. "Fuck, you're perfect." His voice was now ragged. He eventually made his way back to my face. "Your turn." I was damn near chewing my lip off at this point. "Are...are you sure?" He smirked, "It's only fair." I took a deep breath and looked down. My mouth dropped open at the
Dante's POV I awoke to Angel sleeping soundly with her naked body sprawled across my chest. I buried my nose in her hair, delighted that her scent had finally returned. I felt complete again; although, we still had matters to attend to. Before my poor little mate fell into her orgasm induced coma, she told me what David's plan was. I was glad that I figured it out before I sent every warrior of mine to search through each of the Rogue King's hideouts. Before we moved our focus to Jett, we needed to find David. He had hell to pay. I slipped out from underneath her and threw on the clothes sitting on the closet shelf, gray sweatpants and a shirt. Then, I quietly snuck out of the room and retrieved Angel's clothes from the dryer; they would be clean and warm for her when she woke up. Jalen got up early to get our rental car before he led our two packs home. We would meet him there in a few hours. I was ecstatic that once we returned today, I would be able
Dante’s POVAs soon as we arrived at the packhouse, the smell of blood and burnt flesh violated my nose. There were body bags placed in a line across the yard. I quickly counted twelve of them. Quinn let out a violent growl as he recognized the scents of our warriors. I had to calm him before he forgot Angel was on his back. Angel got off so I could shift. She quickly went behind one of the trees and grabbed me some clothes. "Thanks princess," I whispered. Rashaad sensed my presence and rushed outside. "Go find Jasmine and I'll come get you once I find out what's going on," I demanded. "No." I raised an eyebrow. "No?" Did she really want to be here for this? "Dante, as your mate and future Luna, I need to get used to...stuff like this. Plus, you know you'll be distracted worrying about me. Please allow me to stay." "Very well, then," I mumbled. I quickly turned my attention back to Rashaad. "Status report?" "There ar
Angel's POV The morning sun rose in the sky as we walked out of the hospital room and joined Rashaad in the waiting room. It was a long ass night; Jalen had coded twice from all the silver and wolfsbane in his system. Because the silver slowed his healing, he had also lost a lot of blood. Thankfully, the blood of an Alpha is universal, so Dante was able to donate some to him. We were all cranky and exhausted. I didn't notice at first that Noah was still here because he was silently standing in the corner of the room. I guessed that he was still covering his scent with Moonshine since rogues had a natural rotten smell that could easily be picked up. His blood-stained clothing from last night had been replaced by a black muscle shirt and denim jeans. His golden hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Our eyes met momentarily before I quickly looked away. Dante wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me against his body. I could hear a low growl rippling up his throa
Angel’s POVSuddenly, I sensed a powerful aura enter the hospital. It wasn't as strong as an Alphas or Betas, but I'm sure whoever it was had just as much influence. The woman marched into view down the hallway with two scary looking men at her side. "Who's that?" I asked aloud. "Luna Kamala," Rashaad's jaw clenched in disgust. "If she's here, that means Luis and Jasmine must have stayed behind to run the pack," Dante mumbled. Noah scoffed. "Great...more werewolf royalty." Luna Kamala looked to be in her late 20s. She was slim with bronze skin, sharp, gray eyes, and a thick, dark-brown afro. She had a square face with a broad forehead, pointed cheekbones, and lush lips. She walked like a queen; straight and tall with her head held high. She was wearing a black, medium-length dress with a long, leopard-print faux fur coat and black knee-high boots. "Where is my husband?" she shouted at one of the nurses, her southern accent oozing through her words.
