"Son." The raven haired elf nodded to Ciel, then settled his icy blue eyes on me. "This is the female you spoke about?" His voice boomed across the room, and sounded much more menacing now that we were in a closed area. Even my Wolf felt a little intimated but she stood her ground and lent me her courage.
I looked down and gave a clumsy bow. "Your majesty." Is that what I'm supposed to say...? I've never been in front if royalty before...
When I stood back up, the white haired queen stood up and walked down the steps towards me. She gently passed her hand across my cheek, then gazed at my eyes, my face and my body, apparently examining or assessing me. Although she was quite meticulous, I could feel some sort of strong emotion emanate from her... something similar to grief or nostalgia... Could it be that I reminded her
I smiled at Valor's words and Ciel kindly pulled out a chair for me while his parents sat down. I took my seat, facing the king and queen, while Ciel sat down beside me. The table was decorated with fruits, veggies and cheeses of all kinds, some I've never seen before in my life, actually. Star shaped green fruits, red spiky ones, pineapples, grapes, apples, strawberries, name it! They had it all. Yet their wasn't a single scrap of meat anywhere, nothing even close to it. Despite my Wolf's whimpers for her favorite treat, I subdued her demands and didn't ask, by sheer politeness. Guess the royal family is vegetarian...? "This looks delicious." I complimented, waiting for the king and queen to take their food. Instead they simply looked at me, smiling calmly which made me all the more uncomfortable.
I don't know how much time had passed since I was locked up in my room, but it felt like an eternity. Nobody answered my calls over the link and after what I think was an hour at most, I gave up and slumped at the edge of my bed. I had already checked every inch of the room which only confirmed it was pointless to even try to escape; the window was way too high to jump out of and the door way was covered with thorns, not to mention the two elven guards posted there. I was completely isolated from the world with no one to turn to. I event tried to get information from the guards, or at least know what I did wrong, but none of them even moved or seemed to acknowledge my presence. I don't know how many hours I spent in that room, but finally, I heard movement at the front of my doorway, on the other side of the vines. "At ease." I heard the voice of King Valor say as a response to the guards and the vines retracted into the wall as I stood up, gazing at the King while h
Clinging for dear life, I watched as Zed clawed and ripped at the monster's back, tearing its flesh apart as it tried to shake itself free. The monster then swung its giant arm and clamped it's claws into Zed's shoulder, sending the scout flying into a tree. To my horror, Zed's body went limp on impact, blood seeping out of a wound on his head, but I couldn't tell whether he was dead or unconscious. Enraged, I heard Cade growl before he jumped head first to attack, while the monster blindly charged at Zed for a finishing move. I watched as Cade fought claw to claw with the beast, somehow unable to move from my spot. As he went for the throat, Cade was attacked from the side and pinned to the ground, the creature holding his head down with his powerful paw. A yelp of pain escaped the blond wolf's throat, but my eyes couldn't move away from the beast. As hard as I tried, I was no longer in control, somehow, it felt like my Wolf had taken over my body and no longer answ
A blast sent him flying a few meters away, aburningheatinvadinghis back. As he camebackto hissenses, althoughdazed by the impact, he franticallylooked around. Flames surrounded the clearing and the tree, once a flourishingpalace, was now a giant ball of flames and smoke within the dark forest. Mate... must protect... mate... When I regained consciousness, my entire body felt as heavy as a rock. I was numb and a little cold, but I was mostly exhausted and hungry. My back felt slightly warmer and my left side was sore, uncomfortably pressed against a rugged surface. I was so disoriented, I could barely open my eyes. I felt my Wolf wake up and I was relieved to know she was okay, albeit sore and drained of al her strength. I groaned, feeling a sudden irritation around my neck. I brought a hand up to my throat and touched the skin, which made me hiss when it hurt at the contact of my finger. Felt like I was burnt in that area... Careful, I slowly began to move my limbs around, warming myself up while I took deep, but shivering breaths. That's when I noticed I was completely naked and crossed my arms over my chest, shaking from the cold. What the heck happened...? Where is everyone? Concerned I couldn't detect anyone's presence, I took a look around realizing I was inside some sort of
I was so frustrated, I didn't even bother stopping her when she replaced the logs, she can waste her time for all I care; I know it's a lost c— son of a bitch... my eyes grew wide in complete stupor when flames rose from the moss and slowly grew onto the wood, consuming it. I had to look away and hide my reaction as the girl gazed over her shoulder like some kid eagerly awaiting a reaction from their parents. I could only thank Selene that the others weren't around, I could practically hear Ryder's mocking voice already... What's wrong Alpha? Need a lil'lady to get your fire going? Anything else ya need help starting up, haha! I was pulled out of my thoughts when the Omega stepped out of the cave and headed toward the forest. "H-hey!" I quickly caught up and grabbed her arm. "Where are you going? - To catch some food." She responded, barely looking at my face. What the hell is wrong with her!? "Pfft, as if you can catch us anything; unless yo
At last, my makeshift bed was finished. It wasn't much but at least I wouldn't catch a cold sleeping on the ground. I attended back to the fire and made sure we had enough supplies to keep it going overnight. Scratch that,Ihad to make sureIhad enough supplies; I hadn't noticed Jace had left for Selene knows how long, but I was understandably quite irritated. That guy really doesn't know how to work as a team, doesn't he? And that's if he's worked a minute in his life at all. I was a little surprised when my Wolf whimpered, pulling me out of my initial thoughts. I focused my attention to her, wondering why she was trying to reach me. Come to think of it, it has been a while since we last took time together... I gave a small smile and sat down, forgetting my frustration as I leaned onto the wall of the cave. I absentmindedly watched the flames dance before me and, like many times before, I took a breath, closed my eyes and I re
"That's it son. Keep yo'hands where I can see'em." I froze, then slowly raised my hands, well aware I had a gun pressed against the back of my head. Shit. Guess this place wasn't abandoned after all, or some redneck had the same idea as me; only he has more firepower to go with it. I kept my cool, but I could tell the man behind me seemed just as confident in his gun as I am in my powers. Only right now, except the one in real danger here.I gently turned my head, trying to gaze over my shoulder, but he quickly screamed at me to keep my head straight, poking the gun's barrel at my neck. I snarled. "Listen old man, I'm not looking for any trouble!" I heard him scoff, his voice cracked with age. "Then you should've kept away from m'dam house, ya filthy pickpocket!" I felt his gun shake with his words, and I felt my heart raced through my chest. Great... sounds like one of those crazy farmer folks everyone stays away from. And this one seemed especially dangerous
