The following morning was pretty tough on the pack; the night had been pretty cold. Since most of us had nothing more but pants to cover ourselves and no mattress to sleep, we were all quite sore. A few ended up sleeping in their Wolf form to shield from the cold with their pelt, but even then sleeping wasn't very enjoyable.

Ava and Jace's disappearance had taken its toll on the pack alongside the looming fatigue and overall boredom. Even though my Wolf healing had already kicked in, I was forced to stay at camp under Kira's orders. I just finished sending our few capable scouts for a quick patrol when I sat down near the Healer, watching intently as she worked on her smelly mixtures. I was always fascinated by her work and how something that seemed so natural to her seemed strange to me. I never bothered asking her about it though, fearful I'd break her focus.
