"Daddy, are you awake?"

I slightly opened my eyes, greeted by the silhouette of a child, her face hidden by the aura of the sun circling her head as she leaned closer to my face. A small smile lifted my lips as I felt her delicate hands poke at my cheek with a long sigh, prodding me awake.

I chuckled, adding to her frustration. "Daddy is still asleep..."

She tilted her head, letting out another exasperated sigh. "But you're talking. Are you sleep talking?

- Maybe." My ears were filled by the sound of her sweet giggle which in return made me laugh. I smiled and finally opened my eyes, delighted to see her. She was the perfect daughter.
