Atlas's POV...

What I did today was so rash and unexpected, and I was aware that it bordered on being reckless. On the other hand, I didn't want to give a damn about it. I had shown sufficient concern. Now, I wanted to go as far as my heart takes me, and I also wanted to do what my mind tells me to do. I wanted to do both of these things.

It wasn't just that the marriage had the potential to safeguard her; I had always had this goal in mind from the very start.

After being startled by the abrupt knock on the door, I turned around and saw the woman that I had been expecting all along.
