I gulp, feeling nervous and curious as I take in the mischievous smile that graces Alpha Xavier's face this morning. My heart races a bit faster, and I can't help but wonder what might be going on in his mind. His voice draws my attention as he addresses me, and I quickly try to gather my thoughts.

"Didn't you hear me ask, Sylvia? I asked how you slept last night." Alpha Xavier's question pulls me into the present, and I realize I've been lost in my own contemplations.

I clear my throat, my voice coming out meekly as I respond, "I slept okay." My gaze meets his, and I can't help but notice the playful glint in his eyes.

He arches an eyebrow, his lips curling into a knowing smile. "Just okay?" he repeats, his tone almost teasing. "I'd think you slept way better than just okay."

His words catch me off guard, and a blush creeps onto my cheeks. It's as if he can see right through me as if he knows the thoughts that have been racing through my mind since last night.
