Well, that was strange.

How did Alpha Xavier get inside my head like that? We are not even close to each other!

But his voice disappeared before I had the chance to ask him.

I guess it doesn't matter how he did it. His deep and warm tone made me feel safe again despite the situation I am in right now.

The door opened and a man walked in. I recognized him as Gabriel's Beta. "What do you want?" I snap.

The Beta regards me with a cold, calculating gaze. "Alpha Gabriel sent me to get you."

I refused to show any fear in front of this man, who was clearly Gabriel's loyal ally. "For what," I retorted, trying to maintain a façade of strength.

The Beta's cold gaze remains fixed on me as he replies, "It's time for you to donate some of your blood."

My heart sinks at his words, and I can't help but feel a shiver of fear despite my efforts to appear strong.

I take a deep breath, summoning my courage. "You can tell Gabriel that he'll never get his hands on my blood," I declare defiantly.
