Lucien's POV

I arrived at the gate of Devon's castle. I looked around, it was a good-looking place. Not as large as mine of course and also not as well crafted but still, for an alpha like him, this seemed to be good enough.

I looked around in annoyance, I didn't even want to be here. I hated the fact that I had to be diplomatic with him. Tch.

As I approached the gate, one of the guards walked towards me. His gaze was haughty and he looked down on me. I had the impulse to just kill him right there but I decided to still my hand.

I remembered my father's words, I don't have to always be prideful, I must know when to take a step back.

If it was me before, I would have made sure to show the council that I was the one in charge and not them. I would have told them that I would get a Luna when I wanted and how I wanted but that wasn't the me of now.
