chapter 18

~ Elijah's POV~

The scene before Elijah was one of utter devastation. As he looked around at the corpses of his fallen pack mates and fellow warriors, he felt a sense of hopelessness wash over him. These were wolves he had trained with for years, wolves he had shared countless battles and victories with. And now, they were gone. He felt nauseous, seeing the sights.

He couldn't help but gasp in shock and horror at the sight before him, his knees buckling beneath him. If it weren't for Matt, who was holding him up against the wall, he would have crumpled to the ground in despair. It was difficult to come to terms with the fact that so many of their own had perished in this terrible conflict.

As he struggled to compose himself, Matt's voice cut through his despair like a knife.

"Elijah," he said, his tone firm but gentle. "You need to pull yourself together and tell us what to do. Alister isn't here, and you're in charge now." Matt added.
