Chapter Seventy-Seven: Feel Like Home

I almost choked on my food, quickly grabbing my glass of water. My heart thrummed as I felt a jolt of shock coursed through me. I needed to say something but I couldn’t find the exact words to say. I was dumbfounded.

I watched Devyn reach into his pocket, and pull out his phone. He dialled a number before placing it against his ear.

“Sven, book a flight to Romania. Two seats.”

He paused, attentively listening to Sven speak from the other end of the phone, then he spoke, “First class.”

Kristen turned her gaze towards me at the same time I turned towards her. Her eyes wide as a subtle smirk played on her lips. She mouthed something I couldn’t quite hear, but I understood.

A first class flight to Romania?

How rich was Devyn?

He ended the call and I took that moment to voice out my mind.

“Isnt tonight too soon? I mean, everything is moving so quickly,” I argued, my body tensing.

Devyn’s gaze on me hardened as his jaw twitched, and I felt myself wince. “We leave by eight pm.”
