Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Pendant

DEVYN’S POV

The wedding was planned to take place tonight, set against the moonlit Park beneath the full moon. Members of the pack who were deemed to attend were free to, and those who didn't were allowed to make a choice. It wasn't just a wedding, it was also a ceremony to appoint Gina as the Luna of the park.

It wasn't something a lot of people would agree on due to her being part-human, but she was also the sacred wolf, and that was enough reason.

Since the day she barged unexpectedly into my room, our paths hadn't crossed again. She had seen my scars that day, a reminder of my painful past. The scars were a permanent testament to my actions. It was a burden I would carry with me for the rest of my life, a reminder of my sins.

She had seen my vulnerable side, the side of me that made me human, and I hated that she did. The concern etched on her face when she saw the scars had triggered an unexpected response from my wolf, urging it to cower and hide.
