“The Kingdom Monjour is transpiring a chaos, sire,” Roy whispered behind me as we watched the burning bonfire where the corpse of the former alpha is placed. “And it is said that Elizabeth killed the queen…”

I almost shook my head in dismay, but instead, I closed my eyes so that I could feel Elizabeth. I wanted to hear her thoughts; to know where she is right now; and to foresee what could she be planning next. But again, I just failed in doing that.

It was as if Elizabeth had cut her chords off me. I tried to reach out to her, but she had already closed her senses.

Days and weeks passed since she was gone, and the only thing I would want to do is to find her. I would never ask the reasons why she left me. I would never question if her love for me has gone. I would even never remember that she ran away, and her reason is because of me.

“Aside for the queen, did someone else die?” I asked in a monotone voice, my eyes are still on the bonfire.
