My knees have gone week as I watched my mother, Zandra, revealing herself behind the hood of the red woman. I could feel the lump forming in my throat, and in between of my sadness and anger, longing possessed over me. And I realized that I missed her… very much… and I could not even believe that she was there all the time without me knowing.

“Elizabeth,” she mumbled sternly. “I want you to control your emotions.”

I repeatedly shook my head and chuckled nervously. “No, you’re not true,” I said. “You are already dead, mother.”

“I am,” she said. “I am only a spirit guide that your true mother assigned me for you.”
