A beautiful young girl with long hair was getting adorned with jewelries that reflected under the blazing moon.

Her neck was covered with pearls, her wrists wore bracelets made from precious gems and her clothing was made of fine, soft silk with dazzling diamonds around the waistline. Saying she looked breathtaking was an insult to how divine this beauty looked.

Staring at the mirror, she giggled, a blush forming on her round cheek. Her face had been enhanced with natural makeup. Not that it did much because naturally, she was that girl every man and woman turned to glance at when she walked by.

“Can you believe this? The day you've been waiting for to be mated to your mate has finally come. Who thought it would be the almighty Alpha Annik,” her maid spoke excitedly, adding the last touches to this maiden's appearance.

“Honestly, he didn't take the news well at first. But, warming up to it and proceeding with the ceremony surprised me. I guess we do fall in love after all,” she responded, warmly smiling at her subordinate.

“No one can refuse such beauty as yourself. Besides your beauty, Alpha Annik knows that you truly love him. You have kept yourself pure for only him to do as he pleases. Moreover, with a Luna like you, this kingdom would excel. He made a wise choice.”

Flushing again, “you flatter me, Marina. That's why you'll become the head maid once I'm Luna,” she promised.

“You're too kind, Lady Lana.” She could not address her as Luna yet, since the ceremony has not been completed.

After years of loving Alpha Annik from afar, years of praying to the moon goddess to make someone like Alpha Annik her mate, and years of doing everything to please Alpha Annik, the time has finally come for her to his Luna. Dreams did come through after all.

As Lady Lana and her maid continued to chatter, a soft knock came at the door. Twice it sounded and with the response of Lady Lana, the door swung open. Marched in was a fine gentle who had a welcoming grin plastered on his face.

“Oh, I thought you wouldn't come to plead your best friend one final goodbye and wish me good luck before the ceremony started, Delta Scott,” Lady Lana pronounced, standing to hug her best friend.

“What nonsense! Just stop with the title,” Delta Scott reprimanded. “If this is your subtle way of telling me to call you Luna when you're united with Alpha Annik, you've failed. To me, you would always be little Lana. No lady or Luna attached to it.”

Laughing, “whatever pleases you. For you, there's always an exception,” Lady Lana said, gently patting his back.

“Marina, leave. I would love to have a world in private with the future Luna,” Delta Scott ordered.

Marina gave a bow to Lady Lana first and then to Delta Scott before living.

In the Pure Crescent pack, after Alpha Annik who was a demigod, feared and respected by all, Delta Scott came second. He led the soldiers; training and picking out the strongest. He covered the pack's territory and made sure that all who dared to question Alpha Annik vanished from the face of the earth.

To this, his importance to the pack gave him respect and class second to none. In the middle of all this, he was still Lana's best friend since childhood. The complete opposite of Lana; warm, kind, compassionate, and lovely. Yet, they had managed to complete each other, thriving effortlessly.

“What's wrong, Scott? You don't look happy. Don't tell me you're the one getting cold feet instead of me,” she teased.

She was right. Even Lana could sense in her gut that something was off. She couldn't put her finger on it. Instead, she pushed it to the far end of her thought. She had Scott. What could go wrong? As far as Scott existed, she was safe and protected. She knew that because, for a long time, Scott has been doing that. Why worry over some jittery feelings? Nonsense!

As she looked into Scott's eyes with wry, she saw him coming closer until he was in her personal space. “Lana,” he began. “You know that I have been in love with you for a long time. . .”

Cutting in, “I know. You love me as a brother would love her sister. And, I'm so grateful for such a blessing,” she clarified.

Flaring up, “you still don't get it! I see you more than a sister. I have always imagined what your body will feel. I can't get you out of my head and to see that another man is going to make you his, I can't handle that.”

This must be a joke. Of all days, Scott was doing this. Was he out to ruin her day? If someone heard of this or words got out, they would be in trouble. So she thought. Little did she know that the trouble was there to fill only her basket.

“Stop it, Scott! We can't be more than best friends. You know that I love Annik. I love you too, but only as a brother,” she lowered her voice, calming her nerve. “I will pretend as if this never happened. We never had a conversation like this.” Turning, she moved to her Vanity Fair. “What do you think? The white ring or the sapphire one?” she asked Scott, open-mindedly, waiting for his response.

“The sapphire one matches your neckpiece,” Scott responded.

As Lana slid the ring into her wedding finger, Scott swiftly and silently moved to the door, quietly locking it. It didn't bother Lana, as she hadn't noticed his movement. Instead, she stood in front of the mirror, palm against her chest, trying to calm her racing heart.

Today was the most exciting and fearsome day for her. Exciting because her dream was coming to pass. Fearsome, because she was afraid it might be ruined. Ruined would have been better because worse awaited her.

“Forgive me, Lana. But, I have been waiting for a long time to do this,” he mumbled.

As Lana turned her back to him to grab her purse, a final accessory needed to compliment her outfit, Scott grabbed her by the waist and threw her on the bed. It was easier for her as he was bigger, taller, and stronger than Lana.

Next, he pounced on her as Lana tried to dash out of the bed and make for the door. Without hesitation, he tore her white, silk dress, giving way to her nakedness.

“Don't do this, Scott,” she sobbed. “Please. . .”

Her plea only fell on deaf ears, and his eyes were replaced with lust.

“Help. . .” she tried to scream. But, Scott was fast enough to muffle her cries by stuffing a large part of her torn dress into her mouth, almost gagging her.

Tears streamed down the corners of Lana's eyes endlessly as Scott restrained her hands. She lay on the bed, vulnerable and exposed, waiting for either Scott to get a hold of himself and let her go. Or, for her dear Alpha Annik to hear her mind-link and come to her rescue.

Since they had bonded by drawing each other's blood, Alpha Annik could hear her thoughts, feel her distress and collect her scent. He could even communicate with the vibration from her body.

At the back of her mind, it wouldn't be so long until her rescue came. Was that going to be the case? Or, was there more to what was happening to her?

Hopefully, she thought, help would reach her before it was too late. Before the abomination was committed.
