Chapter 99

Evan's POV

I waited in my study for a long time hoping that she would have fallen asleep before getting to the room. However, she sat there, staring at herself in the mirror with a small smile on her face.

Not wanting to say a word, I moved into the room, not sparing her a glance as I moved like I was being chased by someone.

It wasn't easy for me to see her like that. She had a smile on her face even when I was hurting her deeply.

"Evan?" She called, making me stop in my tracks. I gulped down the nervousness I was feeling, the last thing I needed was for her to say something to me.

"Thank you for taking care of me, and for all the things you're willing to do for me, I'm grateful, and I hope things will turn out to be better someday."

I was shocked by her words, my eyes darting around in shock before I turned back only to meet her right behind me. I took a few steps away from her, maintaining a serious gaze to scare her away.
